Introduction
In the spring of 29AD, three Irish druids embark on a perilous journey across the Roman Empire to discover the meaning of an ancient prophecy of doom.
This tale is set in legendary Ireland, tribal Britain, imperial Rome and biblical Galilee. An amiable bard, a lonely brehon judge and a promiscuous healer are the inadvertent heroes of this saga as they become personally embroiled in the intrigues of authentic historical figures and directly affect documented historical events. Set against a rich backdrop of Celtic, Roman and Jewish cultures, the story explores the philosophies, social structures and mythologies of two thousand years ago.
The three protagonists, Duncan, Caitlyn and Shannon are endowed with extraordinary insight, foresight and healing abilities, yet this does not save any of them from experiencing ordinary human pain or suffering. Their quest becomes a personal and universal search for Truth in all its forms.
Collaborating under the pseudonym of Kate O’Brien, the authors of this yet unpublished work completed the project after four years of intensive research, including visits to the historical sites mentioned in the book.
